Shift The Focus Of Your Conscious Attention To The Eyes by Elysha
What you are looking for is right before your very eyes. In fact, it is flowing through the very eyes of this mindbody – that you mistakenly identify yourself to be – right now and you realize it not. A shift of focus of your conscious attention is required because there is no possibility of you seeing and being who you are while you are attempting to see this “you” of you via your mind – which of course, is where your unconscious attention is automatically gravitating to. The part cannot be the whole – not ever. “You” are the divine one in which everything arises. That means the body that you are travelling around in and the mind that you believe yourself to be are actually arising in this “you” – not the other way around. You are this nameless, shapeless and formless “aliveness” that is flowing through your very eyes right now. Realize your self and be the love that is already true of this “you” of you, where you are free, content and at peace in the fullness of the beingness of this one. Until you do so, you will continue to suffer the belief that you are something “else,” something “other,” forever lacking from the richness of the fullness of your heart. The love you have for your self, your innate desire to be fulfilled, content and at home in the heart will eventually awaken you to what you are not – this activity of trying to be the notyou-ness that you keep on suffering on a momentary basis. Then perhaps you may begin to “see” just what it is that you already and truly are – the one that is looking through your very eyes right now; the seer; this “you” of you that is the very motion of seeing. When you tire of the failure of who you think you are and its non-deliverance of the fulfilment, completeness and wholeness that you keep on hoping to attain; then you may well be ready to surrender and leave alone this motion of addiction to the trying to be of who you think you are; which is only an arising from within this “you” of you that is already flowing through your eyes. Realizing that who you are is impersonal, even as it flows through and animates a person – with no contradiction in the facts of it all; realizing that the mindbody that you find yourself driving around through is nothing but a “hollow bamboo” for the lips of the divine one – this “you” of you – to flow the song of existence through. In your belief of who you think you are – the thinker – which has not brought you to the self obviousness of this “you” of you, you persist in your misery of addiction and attachment to this chattering and informative mind as if it were you and that somehow some when, you – as this mind informed mindbody – is going to eventually get you “there.” There is no “there” in here, though. There is not even a bridge from “there” to here. Be deeply at peace in this one that is you – this “you” of you that is currently flowing through the eyes of this mindbody that you find yourself flowing through; the divine one; the heart of existence itself – or suffer the belief of the separation of who you think you are. It is as simple and uncomplicated as this.
Elysha is a Heart Master and sits at The Elysium Ashram daily from 10am – 6pm. Anyone who is interested in learning to get past the resistances that have you bound to the notyou-ness that you are suffering: interested in being the freedom of the heart; are welcome to come along and sit with him.

Spirituality Moves You Away From Your True Self
When you try to be, or do a thing, what you are saying to the universe is that “I am not there yet,” and it is this thought that keeps you from experiencing what you desire. By the law of attraction you can never be what you are trying to be. It is the very same with the true nature of who you are. You are nothing experiencing “being” something. You already are what you think you are and your existence is a demonstration of the thought process which created you. In the physical life you choose the different rolls or scripts you are playing. Trying to be spiritual is simply another script or play. You are spirit trying to find its way back to spirit. You are trying to define yourself by creating an illusional experience of one possibility of your existence. From the second you awake into consciousness you recreate yourself in physical experience. While you were asleep you did not know yourself. When you awoke you started to put it all back together. I am awake, I am male, a spouse, father, employee that needs to stop thinking and get ready for work. Throughout the whole day you reaffirm your place in time and space and when you go to sleep again tonight you will have forgotten who you are. Everything you do, all day long, says this is me-this is who I am. This is a false existence, an illusion and your ego requires this constant affirmation that it exists-it does not! The real you, the truth about who and what you are is what you were before you started thinking-before your mind gets involved. To “be” you have to start from somewhere or nowhere. To be what you believe yourself to be right now-you started as nothing. So nothing is your true nature and everything else is made up. You cannot be nothing because nothing is not a state of being. However, from the knowledge of your true nature you can fully appreciate the illusion of what you now believe yourself to be. From this understanding you will know nothing is all you will ever be and nothing is really all there is. You will also begin to understand that everything is nothing and nothing can not be created or destroyed. You will always exist in one form or the other. The true magnificence and miracle of what you are is appreciated from this understanding. You will also understand that there is nothing you cannot be. You are everything. You are the creator and the created. You are the ego, tree, rock, sky, your friend, your enemy-you are all things which you experience. You are not one with the tree or sea, you are them. It is only within the illusion of your own consciousness you believe otherwise. The reason you cannot find the creator, your god, the source, is because it is you. And you can never experience being these things while you are looking for them. You can never experience what you truly are, while you are “being” something. This does not mean you should turn away from the illusion. “Being” is the whole purpose for being here. There simply is “nothing” you have to be, do, or say to know who you truly are. The physical life was created for purpose-your purpose. The knowledge or truth about who you really are gives greater meaning to your purpose and what you chose to experience before you started “being” it. You come from nothing and you will go back to nothing, and in between you are nothing trying to experience being something. You are all there is and nothing. You are the expression of nothing. You do not go anywhere or be anything-you are all there is. “We” are not all one because there is no “we”-there is only the one. When you know your true magnificence-you will experience being magnificent-you will know your awesome power and the true state of who you really are.

The Oneness Blessing (Part Four)
My scheduled Deeksha occurred last Sunday as usual. This was Deeksha number five. Nothing unusual happened during the almost two hours my sister, her friend and I attended the meeting. Much of the time was spent bonding with the practitioners, Angela, Shane, and their cat. We were expecting Jane, another Deeksha giver to be there and add to the energy. Jane was the one who gave me my first two Deekshas. She did stop by for a couple of minutes after the Deeksha was over, just to touch base. In the book, it is reported that the Deeksha can be much stronger with others attending, either givers or receivers. Although the floating or calming feeling has remained with all of us, nothing different was noticed during the week, except for one exception. Tuesday evening was an incredibly upsetting night for me. I was at war with my pillow, mattress, and comforter for four hours before I finally fell to sleep. I couldn’t get comfortable and I was determined not to give in and get up-it was a mistake! When I did finally manage to get to sleep, I had horrible nightmares and dreams. I did mention a cleansing period in “part three” but I didn’t expect that I would go through this again. I went through this when I took up the “holosync” program several years ago. It’s not a pleasant experience and I thought I had left that all behind. The characters and images were old news that I thought I had put to rest. Neither my sister nor her friend has gone through this. I have had more blessings than them and it may come up later in their experience. Our next Deeksha was scheduled for today at the home of Angela and Shane. They weren’t there when we arrived and we have not heard from them all week. We were most disappointed and returned to my home to look for another local blessing giver. The book said it is common for seven to eight weeks to go by before one would notice changes and we want to move forward. I went to the blessing site on the internet to find another local practitioner. We found another listed with no contact number and another in a neighbouring town. I am beginning to think we are awfully hard on our practitioners and they don’t want to be involved. As a group we do ask a lot of questions and talk extensively. We are anxious to live out the Deeksha experience so my sister made contact with the out-of-town practitioner and made an appointment with him for herself and her friend later today. I declined as it is a longer drive for me. There is a local drop-in once a week, but that was also cancelled this week. So, it has become fairly obvious that I will not have a Deeksha this week. As I don’t believe in coincidence, the missing blessing this week must have a purpose. I remain…

Personal Development & Happiness Tools: Fixing festering emotional pain, Part 1
Introduction: What’s festering inside you?
Would you be surprised to discover that there is something toxic festering inside you? Wouldn’t it be great to remove them?
Even if you think you are happy, you might have some toxic emotions hidden inside you, some of them for years. Any personal development quest or a search for happiness requires a seeker to deal with this, and the exercise in this article will yield some surprising results.
I believe that these emotions are not, in fact, hidden. Rather, they’re so much a part of us that we no longer notice them, although the toxicity still eats away at us from the inside.
We are used to hurting!
There is a physical analogy for this that I have: A few years ago, a minor spine injury I suffered in training began hurting so much that I desperately began looking for health care practitioners that could fix it. After trying many different therapies and practitioners, I eventually found one which worked. The pain disappeared for days. But after a week, my spine started hurting again, and I booked in for another appointment.
At first I was thinking that he didn’t properly fix the injury, and that it had returned. But it wasn’t the case. He checked my spine, and told me that in fact, he had fixed that injury. The pain I was feeling was in fact the pain that I have been carrying for years prior, caused by poor posture and obesity. I had become so accustomed to it that it didn’t register consciously. The reason it felt like fresh pain to me was because I had been pain-free the week before.
This is the case for emotional pain as well. Much like old physical injuries, they have a way of destroying your body slowly, sometimes without you noticing.
The reasons behind these sensations
These “background” resentments are a bit harder to understand then more intense emotions. Eckhart Tolle, in his powerful works The Power of NOW and A New Earth, states that they are caused by a few structures of the ego. See if any of them apply to you:
- This shouldn’t be happening to me.
- I need to get (a new relationship, a new job, more money)
- Something happened to me in the past that shouldn’t have happened.
All of these carry in common a theme of waiting ” waiting to live, waiting for something to bring you happiness, waiting for something to be cleared so you can be free.
Can’t you live now?
Tolle goes on to explain that you cannot live in the future or the past. If you waiting for a future event to make you happy, it cannot ” for Now is the only time you are alive, and the only time you can ever be happy. When the future comes, it is no longer the future, but Now. The same applies to past burdens. You cannot live in the past, there is only Now. Think about it.
He also goes into detail about the ego, which is the root of unhappiness, as well as the pain-body. I won’t go into them here, but he suggests observing the unhappiness ” a part of which is accepting it ” and it will slowly be transmuted into what he calls Presence (a deep peace and inner stillness). In essence, as you observe your unhappiness, it disappears.
Take action!
I agree with his observation method, but I also find that using a combination of observation and letting your emotions out safely and healthily work better for me, hence the exercise in Part 2. You’ll also find this approach throughout the rest of the Urban Monk site.

Tithing or God's Grace. Which Prospers You? Part 2
Welcome to our little chat about tithing or God’s grace . I was watching Christian television the other morning and listening to what they were implying. They were talking about the parable of the widow’s offering and making it sound like Jesus was just so pleased with the fact that she gave all she had to live on. After I finished stabbing myself in the eye with a fork I thought to myself, don’t these so called men of God know how to meditate the word.
You never and I mean never lift a verse out of it’s setting. Jesus always taught in whole subjects. The key is to find the beginning of the subject and then find the end. Perhaps part of the confusion here with the widow’s offering is that most modern translations put a sub heading right in the middle of this teaching as though Jesus had changed the topic which he clearly had not.
Here is how it should read: Luke 20:45 While all the people were listening Jesus said to his disciples, ” Beware of the teachers of the law. They walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted in the market places and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They DEVOUR WIDOW’S HOUSES and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished and most severly.” As he looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. ” I tell you the truth” he said ” this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” Some of his disciples were remarking how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with the gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said “As for what you see here not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.”
As you can see the beginning of the topic is the teachers of the law (or the religious hypocrites of the day). He then points out how proud they were and how they DEVOUR WIDOW’S HOUSES. How do they do that you ask? Jesus looks up into the temple to show you how she just put her last two small coins into the offering and now she has nothing to live on. In other words they taught her a doctrine that she needed to give BIG even all her living. In other words she just gave all her rent money or all she had to live on. Kind of like what we hear on Christian TV today. Does it sound to you like he is endorsing giving all you have to live on or is he REBUKING what is going on here?
The reason I know he is not pleased is the very next thing he says is” do you see this temple”. All this is going to be torn down. Or in other words I am changing this whole religious set up! No it doesn’t sound like he was pleased with what he just saw at all. It’s amazing what you can discern when you start at the beginning of a topic and follow it to the end.
Furthermore there is no doctrine in the old testament that says that the financial burdens of the temple should be carried on the backs of widows. Also in many places in the new testament Jesus councils us to give to the poor. Not take the last few dollars they have. How could Jesus possibly be saying that he recommends what they taught this poor widow to do. He would be contradicting himself.
No clearly to me this is a recommendation of what not to do. Beware of teachers that teach you false doctrine! Our giving should be a fruit of the grace and abundance he has poured out on us. If we are hard pressed financially God is totally there and will take us back to abundance by his grace and grace alone. NEVER do we need to give what we don’t have to somehow BUY God’s favor. It has already been provided for us through Jesus. Stay tuned for part 3.
